With essay writing help learn how to:
• Analyze a topic assignment or writing task.
• Understand the difference between IB essay writing for something like the Extended Essay or TOK from an Internal or External Assessment (Paper 1, 2 or 3), or from an AP, A Level, or GCSE essay.
• Double check to make sure everything is addressed and done well along the way, assuming a rubric is provided. Do this and again at the end of essay writing.
• Understand if the assignment encourages creative expression or if the task is a strict academic form of writing.
• Brainstorm an approach and identify relevant evidence.
• Conduct further research to better understand the topic from various angles.
• Read and annotate relevant sources to later cite.
• Outline ideas and develop an original argument.
• Draw logical relationships between points and conclusions.
• Draft paragraphs, transitions and substantiate claims, address counterclaims and apply proper citing.
• For persuasive paragraphs use PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explain, Link,) paragraph techniques, among other helpful methods.
• Revise ambiguous language for precision.
• Eliminate close word repetition, unless it serves a stylistic purpose.
• Check formatting and stay consistent.
• Finish the essay at least a couple of days early. Walk away from it. Return a day or so later to read it one last time with fresh eyes looking for careless errors.

What qualifies someone as a good creative writing tutor? |
A strong listener and someone able to provide clear guidance. I lead students on a journey of self-discovery as they search for the details and insights that make their stories uniquely their own. Using principles of effective storytelling, I support students in crafting their visions into a narrative which brings their curiosities, core values, and personality to life. Students learn how to showcase their distinct voices and appropriately express passions and vulnerabilities. Their carefully crafted words will leap off the page to truly engage their reader. The end result is a beautiful statement of individualism which demonstrates how a student’s experiences and outlook continue to positively shape their future. A creative writing tutor, such as myself, wants students to become distinctive and memorable.

What is better, an in-person or online writing tutor?
What is most important is to find an excellent writing tutor that can help you develop effective communication skills. This person might not always be someone near you. There are great advantages to getting online tutoring and working on platforms such as Google Docs. Read this blog about the advantages of online tuition if you are in doubt. Of course, sometimes students connect better with an in-person tutor, it is important to keep that in mind. Finding someone highly skilled and is most preferable.
Personally, I enjoy providing both in-person and online tutoring. Sometimes I travel and host a series of intensive workshops for students in different cities in Italy, France (I live in Milan and Nice), and Monaco. Other times I even travel to more distant regions (including the United States) during the summer or holidays. But no matter the time of year, I can always be found online and that is the beauty of being an online writing tutor.
